Meet your trip scholar
Dr. Chrissy McAllister (C’93) joined Principia College’s Department of Biology and Natural Resources in 1999 and has served as department chair and as Division Head for the Math and Natural Sciences Division. Chrissy holds a master’s degree from Kansas State University in biology, focusing on plant ecophysiology in tallgrass prairie plants and a PhD from Saint Louis University in biology, focusing on plant population genetics. At Principia, Chrissy teaches courses on botany, plant ecology, and conservation genetics. She also maintains an active research program in these fields, centered around engaging undergraduate students in research. A big proponent of Principia's study abroad programs, Chrissy has led numerous programs to New Zealand, Yellowstone National Park, and Dominica.
