MAIN TOUR PRICING

February 9-21, 2025

  • Reservations start at $7,500 per person, double occupancy
  • Additional single occupancy fee starts at $3,100 

Optional Activities on Main Tour:

Most of these additions can be pre-purchased online in U.S. dollars and added to your trip total. Or you may choose to purchase some of these options during the trip and pay in cash only (U.S. dollars or Egyptian pounds). The flight to Abu Simbel must be booked by October 1.

Giza Pyramids

  • February 11: Entry to walk inside Cheops’ Pyramid: $30
  • February 11: Camel ride at the Pyramids for 20 Minutes: $20
  • February 11: Underground corridors of Zoser Pyramid: $20 

Luxor

  • February 13 - Morning hot air ballon ride over Luxor’s west bank: $150
    A hot air balloon ride in the early morning is a breathtaking way to see Luxor. Enjoy the world’s largest open-air museum from the sky as the rising sun hits the magnificent temples and lights up the green of the Nile banks. Early pick up from your hotel (3:30 a.m.- 4:30 a.m.) will take you to the balloon to cruise the Egypt sky for 45 to 60 minutes. (Note: professional cameras are prohibited on the ride. But you may take pictures with your phone.)
  • February 13 – Calesh (horse-drawn carriage) ride around local Luxor: $25

Aswan

  • February 19: Abu Simbel by flight: $350 (booked by October 1, 2024)
    Abu Simbel Temple is a UNESCO World Heritage Site renowned for its colossal statues of Pharaoh Ramesses II. It is the most spectacular temple in Egypt. Carved into the rock face, this ancient temple is a testament to the grandeur and architectural mastery of ancient Egypt. It is a 45-minute flight from Aswan. The excursion, including flights, lasts 5-6 hours and will not conflict with the main tour itinerary. You will depart between 7 and 9 a.m. and return by 3 p.m.

Upgrade Option for Hotel Accommodations on the Main Tour:

Each accommodation option has been carefully selected to provide comfort and an authentic experience during your journey. Hotel accommodations are standard rooms with twin beds at 5-star hotels. Upgrades to deluxe rooms/suites on the main tour in Cairo, Luxor and Aswan are available:

  • Upgrade from standard double room to deluxe double room with king or queen bed for additional $2,150 per person. Deluxe rooms are larger and offer the hotel’s best view. (Does not include room aboard the Dahabiya boat).
  • Upgrade from standard single room to deluxe single room with king or queen bed for additional $3,800 per person. Deluxe rooms are larger and offer the hotel’s best view. (Does not include room aboard the dahabiya boat).

Upgrade Option for Rooms Aboard the Dahabiya Boat on the Nile Cruise:

We will be sailing in dahabiyas for four nights on the Nile River. A dahabiya is a semi-luxury small vessel Egyptian sailboat that has been modernized to provide a comfortable and private cruising experience. Dahabiyas can accommodate between 12 to 28 members. Each cabin has a private bathroom, air conditioning and beds. Dahabiyas are accompanied by a tugboat, which provides additional power and stability during the journey. The tugboat ensures smooth and safe navigation along the Nile River, especially during periods of weak winds.

Dahabiya standard cabins contain two single twin beds. There are a limited number of suites on each Dahabiya with a king or queen bed and either panoramic windows or step out balconies. Upgrades to your cabin on the boat are available:

  • Upgrade from a standard cabin for four nights with twin beds to a larger suite with a queen or king bed and panoramic windows for an additional $1500 per cabin (2 suites available)
  • Upgrade from a standard cabin for four nights with twin beds to a larger suite with a queen or king bed and step out balcony for an additional $2,000 per cabin (3 suites available)

OPTIONAL ALEXANDRIA PRE TOUR PRICING

February 7-9, 2025

  • Optional Alexandria Pre Tour starts at $870 per person, double occupancy
  • Additional single occupancy fee of $400
  • No upgrades available

OPTIONAL SINAI POST TOUR PRICING

February 21-24, 2025

  • Optional Sinai Post Tour starts at $1,080 per person, double occupancy
  • Additional single occupancy fee of $450
  • No upgrades available

PAYMENT TERMS

Payments may be made in monthly installments with final payment due November 1, 2024. If your reservation is made within 120 days of the departure date, space may be limited and/or an increase in domestic airfare may apply.

Cancellation Fees:
In the event of a cancellation, the following cancellation policy shall apply:

 

  • $1,100 per traveler is non-refundable unless Principia can fill the cancelled registration with a new traveler (a surcharge not to exceed $50.00 per traveler may be applied for changing names and hotel bookings)
  • From 119-90 days prior to departure, full refund less $2,000
  • From 89-60 days prior to departure, full refund less 50% of the total cost
  • From 59-45 days prior to departure, full refund less 75% of the total cost
  • From 44 days to the day of departure, no refund

All cancellation and refund claims must be made in writing to pll@principia.edu.

Registration for the Main Tour Includes:

  • Cairo: 3 nights at 5-star hotel in standard room (Marriott Mena House Pyramids-view rooms or Ritz-Carlton)
  • Luxor: 2 nights at 5-star hotel standard room (Al Moudira or Sofitel Winter Palace)
  • Private Nile Dahabiya Cruise: 4 nights onboard (private & semi-luxury boat)
  • Aswan: 2 nights at 5-star hotel in standard room (Sofitel Old Cataract Legend or Movenpick Island Aswan)
  • Cairo: 1 Night at 5-star hotel standard room near Airport
  • Domestic Flights economy class (Cairo/Luxor & Aswan/Cairo)

  • PCR tests and medical requirements or expenses
  • Any increase in taxes and fees that may occur between publishing this site and issuing of airline tickets. Price is based on the exchange rate at the time of printing and may be subject to change.
