Summer Session 2024 Excursions

Below are a few of the excursions that will be offered during Summer Session. You can register for these excursions when you sign up for Summer Session. If you’d like to add them to your registration at a later date please contact pll@principia.edu.

Lincoln Presidential Museum in Springfield, IL on Saturday, June 22

Embark on a captivating day excursion to Springfield, IL on Saturday, June 22, as Summer Session faculty member Rich Waller guides you through the renowned Lincoln Presidential Museum. Departing from Elsah on a comfortable coach bus at 8:30 a.m., this enriching journey promises a deep dive into history, with museum tickets and lunch included. Immerse yourself in the legacy of Abraham Lincoln, explore exhibits, and enjoy a memorable day of learning and camaraderie. You will return to campus by 4 p.m.

The cost to attend is $50 per person. Pre-registration required.

Les Misérables at The Muny on Thursday, June 20

Indulge in an enchanting evening with our all-inclusive package for Les Misérables at The Muny outdoor theater in Forest Park on Thursday, June 20. Revel in the magic of this timeless musical, complete with round-trip transportation on a comfortable bus to the event. Before the show, savor a delightful picnic dinner amidst the scenic beauty of Forest Park, setting the stage for an unforgettable night of music and drama. Immerse yourself in Les Misérables under the stars.

The cost to attend is $25 per person. Pre-registration required.

Additional Saturday Excursions

In addition to the excursion to the Lincoln Museum on Saturday, June 22, there will be a few other additional excursions. These include exploring the rich cultural offerings at the Art Museum in Saint Louis or immersing yourself in history with a captivating tour of Alton, IL. Alternatively, you're warmly invited to relish a leisurely day on campus. You can register for these additional excursions when you arrive on campus for Summer Session.
