THE STARS AND STRIPES FOREVER" – A MUSICAL TRIBUTE TO THE 250TH BIRTHDAY OF THE USA

This fly-over of generations of American composers celebrates the vibrancy of the tremendous creative output of hundreds of composers since the birth of our nation in 1776. "The Stars and Stripes Forever," a spirited and patriotic march by John Philip Sousa, captures the essence of American values of freedom, hope, and justice over the last 250 years. Enjoy some of the greatest contributions of our unique cultural heritage, including music by William Billings, hymnist Lowell Mason, songwriter Stephen Foster, great Romantics Gottschalk and MacDowell, and moderns Amy Beach, Scott Joplin, Charles Ives, Leonard Bernstein, and Aaron Copland—to name but a few.
