Meet Your Professors 

Madelon Maupin 

Madelon Maupin (C’73) brings decades of expertise in biblical scholarship and leadership development. She holds a Master of Theological Studies from San Francisco Theological Seminary and a B.A. from Principia College. After an accomplished career in publishing and executive leadership, Madelon turned her focus to biblical education. In 2012, she founded BibleRoads, creating resources for spiritual seekers worldwide through talks, webinars, and study tools. She has authored more than 70 articles on spirituality and her newly published book, Free and Fearless: Life and Leadership Lessons from Women of the Bible, reflects her commitment to illuminating the lives and influence of biblical women. Madelon has served as trip scholar on Principia Lifelong Learning trips to France, Greece, Turkey, and Egypt. She will be the PLL scholar on another biblical trip to Egypt and Jordan this year as well as to Turkey in 2027. Madelon was the 2020 recipient of the David K. Andrews Distinguished Alumni Award.

ENVIRONMENTAL POLICY AND YOU: CONNECTING GLOBAL LAWS TO LOCAL IMPACT

Nicholas Johnson (C’04), PhD

This course introduces the process and purpose of environmental policymaking using examples from US laws (such as the Clean Air Act and Clean Water Act) and global treaties (notably CITES). Gain tools to analyze the laws critically and make connections for their relevance to your community.
