Sharon Perlis

Sharon Perlis (C'66) was among only three women in her freshman class at Tulane Law School, she went on to become one of the first crop of female attorneys in New Orleans, where she now heads her own law firm.  In addition to her law practice, she has held posts on numerous boards and commissions, including the New Orleans Public Belt Railroad, the Economic Development Council for the state of Louisiana, chairman of the New Orleans branch of the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta, and chairman of the Board of Commissioners for the Port of New Orleans.  After almost four decades of outstanding service to her profession, her community, Principia, and the Christian Science movement, Sharon was chosen to receive the DKA in 2006.
