David Gibbs

It is hard to imagine what my life would have been like after college without my background in athletics. Lessons learned in athletics have permeated my entire life. David was the first athlete at Principia College to earn twelve varsity letters. A four-year starter in football, he was an All-Conference selection for two years and received NAIA All-American honors in 1961. In basketball, he was a three-year starter and an All-Conference selection for two years. A four-time All-Conference honoree in track, he was a consistent winner in dash, hurdle, and long jump events. David received the Charles F. Buckwalter Athletic Award in 1961.
