John Andrew Schierholz (US’90, C’95)

Andrew holds six spots on the College’s outdoor track and field Top Ten lists, including the top spot for the sprint medley team and second place for the decathlon. In indoor track and field, Andrew is the long-time record holder for the 55-meter hurdles and the pentathlon, and he holds the second-place spot for the 60-meter hurdles and the 4x400 relay team.

A two-time All-American, Andrew qualified for the NCAA Division III Championships in the decathlon all four years at the College, receiv- ing honorable mention his freshman year. He placed eighth at Nationals his junior year, and in 1995, his senior year, he was second in the nation in Division III. That same year, he won Principia’s Howard L. Mitchell Outstanding Senior Athlete Award.

Currently a pilot for Frontier Airlines, Andrew and his wife, Heather (Pearce, C’96) Schierholz, have two children at Principia School.
