Monday, December 30, 2024

  • Morning Bandfest at Robinson Stadium, Pasadena City College
    Catch a sneak peek of the 2025 Rose Parade bands as they perform the award-winning field shows that led to their selection. Bandfest begins at 10 a.m. with a pre-show at 9:30 a.m. Gates open at 9 a.m. Picnic lunch included.
     
  • Afternoon Rose Parade Float Decorating, Pasadena, 1:30-5:30 p.m., Pasadena 
    Be a part of the magic as we go behind the scenes to help bring a Rose Parade float to life! Join in with hands-on tasks like prepping materials, gluing fresh flowers, or adding paint to put the finishing touches on these living masterpieces.
     
  • Dinner is at your leisure.

  • Morning Tour of the Historic Gamble House, Pasadena
    Tour the iconic American Craftsman style home, a National Historic Landmark. It was the home of the son of the founder of Procter & Gamble as well as Doc Brown in the movie Back to the Future.
     
  • Picnic lunch and afternoon visit to the Getty Center, Brentwood, CA
    The J. Paul Getty Trust is one of the world’s largest cultural and philanthropic institutions dedicated to the visual arts. We’ll tour the museum and see a special exhibit, Ultra-Violet: New Light on Van Gogh’s Irises.
     
  • Early New Year’s Eve Celebration 6:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.
    Grab your party hat as we enjoy dinner and ring in 2025 on New York time!

Wednesday, January 1, 2025

  • The 136th Tournament of Roses Parade 8:00 a.m.– 10:00 a.m.  Pasadena, CA
    Enjoy reserved grandstand seats along the parade route for spectacular views of the floats, the bands, and all the splendor that you’ll only see in Pasadena.
     
  • Post Parade New Year’s Reception, First Church of Christ, Scientist, Pasadena, CA
    Gather with Principia alumni and friends after the parade for a light breakfast reception while traffic subsides.
     
  • Optional Floatfest 11:30 a.m.-4:00 p.m. E Sierra Madre Blvd & E Washington Blvd, Pasadena
    If you’d like to extend the day, get a closer look along a 2-mile showcase of the Rose Parade floats following their appearance along the parade. - $25 per person

1-Day Event: $100 per person with optional add-ons

Can’t make the whole tour? Join Principia alumni and friends for the Rose Parade and reception on New Year’s Day and take part in float decorating on Dec. 30!

1-Day Rose Parade Experience – January 1, 2025 - $100 per person

  • Rose Parade grandstand seating
  • Post-parade New Year’s reception at First Church of Christ, Scientist, Pasadena
  • Optional add on:  Rose Parade parking at First Church of Christ, Scientist, Pasadena (2 blocks from parade seats) - $25 per vehicle
  • Optional add on: Floatfest 11:30 a.m.-4:00 p.m. E Sierra Madre Blvd & E Washington Blvd, Pasadena - $25 per person
  • Optional Volunteer Opportunity: Float Decorating, Pasadena, Monday, December 30, 1:30-5:30 p.m. (RSVP required by November 25. Email pll@principia.edu)
