Meet this year’s David K. Andrews Distinguished Alumni Award recipient, Jim Williams (C’62). Jim’s groundbreaking and innovative contributions to the field of technology—particularly in fire control radar systems—have proven essential for the U.S. Department of Defense. A lifelong Christian Scientist and an active member of the Fullerton church, Jim says Principia has a very prominent place in his thought. “It’s where I learned how to think,” he says. The David K. Andrews Distinguished Alumni Award (affectionately known as the DKA Award) recognizes alumni who have rendered outstanding service to others in the spirit and example set by David K. Andrews, who served Principia for several decades in a variety of roles including teacher, coach, principal, headmaster, and president of both Principia campuses. In 1994, Principia recognized David Andrews' many contributions by establishing this notable award in his honor.
