Jessica Williams Dees (US'93, C'97)
President, Principia Alumni Association Board

Congratulations, class of 2024! I remember packing my car up and driving to Chicago for the first time to start my next step. In two weeks I had a job in post production with no skills but they saw I was an English major and brought my portfolio in graphic design. Keep an open mind.

Stay connected with Principia and let us know how you are doing.  If you ever need anything in the future, please know we are here to support you and are just a phone call or text away.

Avery Sander (C'07)

Graduating from Principia is a great start on your journey. You’ve gained a sturdy reliance on God and Christian Science that many people search their whole lives for. You’ve gained friendships that will remain meaningful to you and support you along the way. And you’ve learned and grown in an academic environment that saw you as the perfect and complete child of God from Day One.

The lesson this very week of your graduation includes this message to you: “Be ye therefore followers of God, as dear children;  . . .For ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: walk as children of light.” (Ephesians 5:1, 8)

Eliza Stewart (US'99, C'03)

You are now part of the Principia alumni family! We all welcome you and are here to support you in your journey after graduation. Go into the world with the confidence that you have a strong basis for solving problems and working through challenges. You will be a blessing to those who you will come into contact with. Congratulations!!

Jane Levy McLane (C'74)

Congratulations, class of 2024, and good job to everyone!!!

Clint Eastwood said it so well in his movie Heartbreak Ridge: ”Improvise . . . Adapt . . . Overcome!"

Dave Pfleeger (C'93)

Every meaningful job I got post graduation was through a connection – use your network! 😊

Joy Long (US'96, C'00)

You have what it takes to succeed in this world – it is about doing what is the best thing to do at each moment, and being the kindest, most thoughtful, person you can be. The rest – where you will live and who your family will be and what jobs you will have – will come from that. You don't need to know it all, or even what you will do tomorrow, just listen for the right thought for each day and do that.

Florence Savoye

"Each successive stage of experience unfolds new views of divine goodness and Love." This Mary Baker Eddy quote encourages us to look for goodness and Love wherever we are, whatever is going on. When you look for good, you find good –even during rough times. Stop and find something to be grateful when you need to change your outlook. Focus on, celebrate, and cherish all the good in your life as much as possible. Keep looking for, and bringing, goodness and Love wherever you go!

Whitnie (Wood) Gonzales (US'98, C'02)

Trust yourself to know what to do when. You have been given the tools to accomplish great things – big and small. Don’t be afraid to ask for help, guidance and advice. People want to help and they will, especially when you are genuine and follow through. Make the phone calls, send the email, and put yourself out there – it works and you can do it! You are unique, strong, and talented – let that shine through!

Bill Kling (C'73)

Roll up your sleeves, and go out and have a great life!

Lucia Tyler (C'74)

I wish I had known early on how rewarding volunteer work could be. I have worked with literacy projects, and I have gained so much joy this way. Giving back in our areas of interest enables each of us to share our light and learning.

Cali McClure (US'57, C'61)

Here’s a quote from Mary Kimball Morgan on the Principia 2024 calendar for the month of May: “God does not dole out His gifts meagerly. And we must open our thoughts wide enough to receive all that He gives.“

Missy Williams (C'76)

My message to you is brief but sincere: VOTE! If you haven’t registered to vote yet, please register. And if you are registered to vote, VOTE. Thank you, and may God bless you as you graduate from Principia College.
