Tess Rountree (C’15)
On the court and on the track, Tess made a lasting impression on Principia athletics. A three-time volleyball captain, Tess was SLIAC Player of the Year and named to the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Division III All-Region team in 2013 and 2014, and Academic All-Conference from 2012–2014. Tess ranked #1 in points per set and #2 in kills per set among NCAA Division III players and set College records for digs, solo blocks in a game, and kills in a game. As an indoor track and field athlete, she set school records in 60m hurdles and high jump, and is ranked 2nd in the pentathlon, long jump, and 4x200m relay. She was awarded the Howard L. Mitchell Senior Athlete Award in 2015. Tess went on to play professional volleyball in Hungary, Sweden, the Philippines, Germany, Nepal, and Peru.
