Josh Burek (C’99)
Josh competed in three different sports while at the College. He was on the basketball team for two seasons and the soccer team for three. In soccer, he received both All- Conference and Academic All-Conference honors, and he was the team’s Co-MVP his junior year.
A member of the track and field team all four years, Josh competed in the decathlon, qualifying for the NCAA Division III Championships twice, placing fourth and earning All-American honors his senior year. As part of that competition, he placed first in the 1500 meters and second in javelin. That javelin throw set a school record that stands to this day. Josh also won the 1999 Principia College Howard L. Mitchell Outstanding Senior Athlete Award.
Josh completed a master’s degree at Harvard Divinity School in 2004 and currently works as the director of communications and outreach at Harvard’s Belfer Center for Science and International Affairs.
