Amy Campbell-Lefkowitz (US'79, C'83)
Amy was the first Principia woman in track and field to become an All-American by the Association of Independent Athletics for Women (AIAW). She was also the Illinois state champion in 1982 in both the 800m and 1500m, placing 5th at Nationals in the 1500m. Her 800- and 1500-meter records stood for more than three decades until they were broken by Casey Powell (daughter of Amy’s former teammate Karen (Amber, C’82) Powell) in 2011 and 2013. In cross country, Amy finished first in the Division III state finals during her junior year and placed 14th in the NCAA DIII regionals for the 5000m in 1982.
