Marty Stout Clark

During her 40 years as an educator, Marty (Stout, C'61) Clark has founded four schools and expanded another. She is currently adding a high school to Riverfield Country Day School, which she co-founded in 1984 with her husband Tom Clark (US'54, C'58). She has been mentor for the National Association for the Education of Young Children, president of the Oklahoma Association of Education of the Young Child, and a member of the Mayor's Commission on Women in Tulsa. She has also served on her branch church executive board and as a Prin Club president and an alumni career contact for Principia. Marty says she still draws on what she learned about education as a Principia College student, including the ideas in Mary Kimball Morgan's Education at The Principia and David K. Andrews' book Program Building for a New Independent Elementary School.
