Betsie Bollinger Andrews
Betsie Bollinger Andrews (US’69, C’73) is an artist, teacher, and community builder. She was the director of Andrews Dance Studio 3100 for 20 years, prior to founding ArtisTree, a Main Street model for the integration of arts in education, business, and community life. She is also the director of Prairie Nutcracker, a biennial event honoring the Kansas pioneer heritage of 1869. In addition, Betsie has written two children’s books.
Along with her distinguished professional achievements, Betsie has contributed to a number of organizations. She serves on local boards and provides arts education to local schools through her participation in ArtWorks.
Betsie is committed to giving back to Principia as well. She has served on the Principia Alumni Association Board and as a reunion committee member and class agent. Betsie has also participated in the Principia Club of Mid-Kansas and attended numerous reunions.
In talking with Betsie about being honored, she shared this message: “Thank you, David K. Andrews, for being such a clear example of the whole man. The character education that we receive at Principia enables us to pursue whatever direction the affection of our heart leads us. Follow the affection of your heart. You have the tools to pursue it with success.”
