Kristin Martin (C’83)

MartinKristi led the women’s tennis team to Nationals three years in a row. That third year, in 1983, the team won the NCAA Division III Championship. During that competition, Kristi and her partner, Wendy (Clark, US’80, C’84) Mortner, won both the team doubles tournament and the individual doubles tournament, making them the #1 doubles team in the country in Division III.

Kristi earned All-American status twice, in 1982 and 1983. And she holds five spots on the College’s Top Ten lists for women’s tennis, including fourth place on the Most Singles Wins per Season and Most Singles Wins per Career lists.

Early in her professional career, Kristi worked as a senior applications developer at The Mother Church. She then went back to school, earned an MAT, and taught second grade, engaging students in creative, hands-on learning. Always active, Kristi continued to play tennis competitively and enjoyed kayaking and skiing.
